Heavy snowfall: Schools, colleges to remain close in Srinagar till April 10
New Delhi

With heavy snowfall and rainfall lashing summer capital, schools and colleges will remain closed in Srinagar till April 10.

"The Schools shall remain closed till Sunday. Let's hope that the weather improves before that," an education department official said.

While Kashmir is experiencing heavy rainfall and snowfall for the last four days, landslides at several places led to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.

"Right now, at a few collection and distribution centres from where we dispatch our polling parties there is a lot of water. Once the weather improves they will drainout the water," said Shantamanu, the Chief Electoral Office of the state.
