RUSA will improve education standard: Virbhadra Singh
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the introduction of semester system in undergraduate colleges will go a long way in improving the standard of education.

“The state government was committed to impart quality education and was one of the first states in the country to implement Rashtriya Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA),” he said.

Presiding over state-level “Samman Samaroh” on National Students Union of India (NSUI) at HP University, Shimla, Singh said that his government was committed to impart quality education and was one of the first states in the country to implement RUSA.

“Education is top priority of the government and adequate funds have been provided for expansion and strengthening of infrastructure facilities. Implementation of RUSA was another step in this direction,” the chief minister said.

Felicitating the NSUI for its victory in elections to Students Central Associations (SCAs) of affiliated colleges, the chief minister said that with the victory of NSUI, another chapter has been added to the Congress'' march towards victory after landslide victory in Mandi Lok Sabha by-elections.

The chief minister underlined the need to maintain discipline and keeping the campus violence free, besides inculcating moral values to become responsible citizens.

Singh said that Congress has set a goal to win all four Lok Sabha seats in the next elections and NSUI can play a vital role in achieving the target.
