OBC women not entitled to benefits in migrated state : Govt
Women hailing from Other Backward Classes (OBC) are not entitled for benefits in the state they have migrated to, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

However, in case of migration to Delhi, a particular woman will be entitled to reservation benefits if her caste features in the state government's list of OBCs.

In his reply to a question, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Krishna Pal Gurjar said that the prescribed authority may issue OBC certificate to a person, who has migrated from another state on the production of a genuine certificate issued to her father by the prescribed authority of the state of her father's origin.

"However, she is not entitled for the benefits in the state she has migrated," the minister said.

In order to get benefits of reservation for employment in Delhi Government and admission in Delhi Government educational institutions, one has to be in the State Government list of OBCs and subject to fulfilling other criteria laid down by the Delhi Government, he added.
