CPI urges Pondicherry University to provide 25% quota for UT students
The Puducherry unit of Communist Party of India (CPI) today called upon the Pondicherry University to ensure 25 percent quota for students belonging to the Union Territory, in admission to its various disciplines.

Secretary of Puducherry unit of CPI, R Viswanathan in a release here said, the University should earmark 25 percent quota for Puducherry students, to various disciplines in the university.


The institution should also provide reservation for SC, ST and candidates of Other Backward Classes in keeping with the Centre''s policy to establish social justice, he added.


Viswanathan further said, the varsity should not delay the implementation of reservations lest a massive agitation should be launched by the party.
