Rajasthan govt scraps Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test
The Rajasthan government has scrapped the Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPET) for admissions to engineering colleges in the state.

The state government has constituted a Centralised Admission Committee (CAC), consisting experts from the field of technical education, to oversee the admissions for the 2015-16 session.

Under the new system, 50 per cent seats of the state's engineering colleges will be filled through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) merit list. The remaining will be filed on the basis of the class XII merit list, Technical Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf said.

He said that of the total seats, 15 per cent seats would be allotted under the management quota and as many will be reserved for students from outside the state. Remaining 70 per cent will be for students from the state.
