Poor students can pursue professional courses now
The National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM) has initiated new system to empower the urban poor youths.

Under Self Employment Scheme the loan of two lakh rupees will be provided to Below Poverty Line (BPL) card holder youths aged between 18 to 30.

With the help of loan the poor students would be able to pursue Fashion Designing, Hospitality, Information & Communication Technology, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and 11 more courses.

A Committee has been constituted to search for such poor youth on Municipal basis.

The central government is keen to provide employment to unemployed youths so the initiative has been taken to empower them under National Urban Livelihoods Mission. The eligible candidates can apply for the same in their respective municipal.

A three member of committee has been constituted which will investigate the credibility of BPL card holders. The Committee will also look after the proper investment of the issued amount as loan.

According to A.K. Singh (EO, Municipal) "The interview process of applicants have been kicked off." The applicants will have to invest the amount to pursue their preferred course.
