IDOL distance education courses admission to begin on June 25
Admission process to the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) for 2015-2016 will start from June 25 and will continue till July 31, an official said.

Students who wish to seek admissions in distance learning courses conducted by IDOL may do so through Mumbai university's website at http://www.mu.ac.in/idol.html, IDOL spokesperson Vinod Malale said.

"Most students who select distance education mode for their undergraduate or post-graduation programme do so since they can work simultaneously along with their studies," the IDOL spokesperson said.

Malale said that last year, 20,706 students took admission for first year BA, BCom, information technology, and computer science programmes, while the total enrollment for the 2014-2015 academic year touched the 80,000 mark.

"This year IDOL expects at least a lakh students to take admission for all courses included. Students can collect their study material from all IDOL centres," he said.

He said that those who seek to do Masters in Computer Applications (MCA) would have to fill up their applications online at www.mu.ac.in/idol or idol.mahaonline.gov, between May 18 and June 6.

"The exam date for the MCA entrance test will be on June 21 and admissions for the course will start once entrance test results are declared," he said.

Students may apply for courses like BA (History, Politics, Sociology, Economics, Education, Psychology, Commerce, Rural Development, Marathi, Hindi and English) along with BCom (Accounts / Management).

Other courses offered by IDOL are B.Sc (Information Technology), B.Sc (Computer Science) BSc (Nautical Technology) MA (History), MA (Sociology), MA (Economics), MA (Politics), MA (Marathi), MA (Hindi), MA (Gujarati), MA (English), MA (Education), MCom (Accounts / Management) MA/M.Sc (Mathematics), M.Sc (Information Technology), MSc (Computer Science), MCA (Master of Computer Applications), Second Year and Third Year Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Management as well as Post Graduate Diploma in Operations Research for Management.
