Haryana govt to increase seats by 10 percent in all colleges
The Haryana government has decided to increase seats in all state colleges by ten per cent.

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said this at Bhiwani today after laying a foundation stone of Bansi Lal University to be set up at a cost of about Rs 50 crore on 70 acres of land.

"The Haryana government has decided to increase seats in all state colleges by ten per cent," he said in an official statement.

The university for which Vice-Chancellor has already been appointed, would provide M A degree in History, Hindi, Political Science and English; M Sc degree in Biology, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and Master degrees in other management areas, the statement said.

“Only a state or country which is ahead in the field of education can emerge on top. Keeping this in view, the state government has decided to set up university in Bhiwani district so that children of this area could get better and higher education,” Hooda said.

On the forthcoming assembly polls, which are due in October, Hooda claimed "the Congress will return to power for the third time in a row".

Lashing out at BJP, he said, the party-led Central government stood “exposed” within two months of coming to power "as people had been burdened with price rise".

"An anti-BJP sentiment is sweeping the country. It can be seen in the outcome of the by-elections in Uttarakhand where all the three seats have been won by the Congress," he claimed.
