Jobs: Government Jobs For Medal Winning Players From Punjab

Punjab athletes who have won medals at national and international levels will have the opportunity to secure government jobs.

An Outstanding Sports Person Cadre, has been created by the Punjab government under which all the eligible athletes can be directly appointed to the position of Deputy Director.
 

The sports department of Punjab has issued the notification, folllowing the approval of the Governor of Punjab. 
 

A new cadre of 500 staff has been created by the Punjab government, which includes 40 positions for Deputy Directors and 460 positions for coaches.

50 percent of the position of Deputy Director of Sports, will be filled through direct recruitment and the other half through promotion.  

Now according to the new cadre rules, athletes who have medals in individual events will be given preference. 
 

Hence, priority will be given to athletes having more medals in both national and international competitions.
 

According to each sport, the number of positions is determined i.e., 29 positions for athletics, 18 for archery, 18 for badminton, 18 for basketball, 18 for boxing, and 7 for bodybuilding.

Similarly, positions for cricket and cycling are 10 each, 27 for football, 28 for swimming, 10 for softball, 27 for volleyball, 19 for weightlifting, and 21 for wrestling.
