If you want to work abroad, instead of wandering, you can upload your information by visiting the e-migrate portal of the Ministry of External Affairs. You will not be able to get an agent's job in a foreign country, nor will you be the victim of a wrong agent. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the e-migrate portal is an online platform that brings together all stakeholders involved in the recruitment of workers in ECR countries. According to the information given by the ministry, since its inception, more than 20 lakh immigration approvals (EC) have been issued so far. There are about 1300 recruitment agents and approximately 160,000 foreign employers registered on this portal. To verify the passport details of the workers of the ECR category, this portal has been linked to the Passport Services Project (PSP). This system has also been linked to the immigration bureau.

Training before going abroad
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, training is also given to the people going abroad for the job. One day prior to pre-departure orientation training (PDOT) has been started for the workers going to the Gulf region from the beginning of this year. So far, more than 30,000 workers have been given one-day PDOT. At present, two centres each in Delhi and Mumbai and one centre in Kochi.


The minimum age for women should be 30 years:
According to the current guidelines of the Ministry of External Affairs, the minimum age of female workers in the ECR category for migrant employment in ECR countries is 30 years. Their emigration to migrant employment is permitted only by the state-run seven accredited recruitment agencies or through foreign employers registered on e-migratory systems. In case of direct recruitment by the foreign employer in the case of direct recruitment by the Emigration Protection office, it is mandatory to verify the work contract by the Indian mission located in the destination country and deposit the bank guarantee of 2500 USD.

Migrant workers can get help from the Overseas Indian Assistance Centre (PBSK) in New Delhi and can also register their complaints, which provide 24x7 assistance in different Indian languages. In addition, there are regional expatriate aid centres in Kochi, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai and Lucknow. In foreign countries, PBSK is also working in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Sharjah and Kuala Lumpur. Toll-free helpline is also available in Embassies, which also organizes open houses on a regular basis. Shelter Home has also been set up.
