President Pranab Mukherjee will visit this Hindu holy town on Sunday to attend the convocation of the Dev Sanskriti University.
According to the University, the President will award degrees to 1,370 students and honour 32 with gold medals. He would confer doctorate degrees on 77 researchers. Uttarakhand Governor Aziz Qureshi and Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna will be present on the occasion, said pro vice chancellor Chinmay Pandya.
The Haridwar-based University was established in 2002 with a view to impart progressive education with a special thrust on moral and cultural values of the Vedas, Pandya said. The University has memorandums of understanding with seven countries to impart Vedic education.
