Five accused of murder and rape of Saharanpur district jail, while in jail, studied for high school and intermediate and conducted the examination. The five prisoners have passed the UP Board Exam 2019. The prisoner who passed the examination was honoured by fellow prisoners in the District Jail.
Five prisoners suspended in district jail Saharanpur also joined the board examinations. In which three prisoners had given high school and two prisoners an intermediate examination. Among them, Joni Kumar, a resident of village Fatehpur village, is serving life imprisonment in the murder case. Joni took a high school examination and secured 72% marks. In the case of murder, Choura Mandi, a resident of Chilakana who has been serving life imprisonment, has received 75.33% marks in high school examination.
While Ravi Kumar was locked in jail on charges of rape, he had also given high school examination while in jail. He received 69.16% marks in the examination. He is currently out of jail.
In the intermediate examination, Alibala resident Vijay, who is locked in charges of rape, received 71% marks. Shishwala Nakud, the resident of the lock-in, received 73% marks in the murder charge.
Jail Superintendent Dr Veresh Raj Sharma said that the efforts of the prisoners were achieved with the efforts of jail authorities and jail education teacher Anil Kumar. These people took the pledge to join the mainstream of society by leaving crime and being a good citizen. The fellow prisoners greeted them with wreaths.
