The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has announced to postpone the CSIR NET 2021 examination till the middle of July 2021. The announcement has been made by the CSIR through a tweet from his official Twitter handle. The country is currently facing a worsening situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many state entrance exams and board exams have been postponed or cancelled due to the pandemic outbreak.

The official tweet of CSIR reads, "Due to the uncertainties posed by the pandemic, the CSIR-NET exam is likely to be deferred to at least the middle of July 2021. We cannot hold the exam putting people at risk." The registration process for CSIR NET 2021 is yet to be started. The CSIR UGC NET examination is held twice every year by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
