Amid the COVID-19 pandemic havoc across the country, the Supreme Court of India has directed AIIMS Delhi to postpone the INI CET 2021 entrance exam. A vacation bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and M R Shah announced the decision pertaining to plea filed by doctors opposing authorities to conduct the INI CET 2021 scheduled on June 16.
As per the latest media reports, the bench termed as "arbitrary" the fixing of June 16 for conducting INI CET 2021 and directed AIIMS to hold the postgraduate medical entrance test after one month. The Bench also stated that it will be difficult for candidates to reach the examination centres due to COVID duty and ongoing lockdown in various regions.
The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, AIIMS New Delhi is conducting the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) July session exam for a total of 815 vacant seats. About 80,000 candidates have applied for the entrance examination.
Successful candidates will become eligible to take admission across 8 institutes of AIIMS and JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru and PGIMER, Chandigarh. Previously, the examination for INI CET PG July 2021 was scheduled to take place on May 8, 2021.
