NEET PG 2021 Counselling will commence from January 12, 2022. The Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya declared the commencement of the NEET PG Counselling process on Sunday, January 9, 2022. While announcing the NEET PG 2021 Counselling dates, Minister Mandaviya said that that the counselling will be conducted for admission into courses such as MDS and other prominent medical courses.
For enrolling into the counselling sessions, the candidates must register themselves on the official website of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) at mcc.nic.in. More information regarding the NEET PG 2021 Counselling would soon be uploaded on the official website of MCC. Candidates must note that the completed schedule is likely to be released anytime soon and registrations would most probably begin from January 12, 2022.
Notably, the Supreme Court, in its verdict on Friday, dated January 7, 2022, upheld the OBC reservation validity in NEET UG and PG Counselling and gave nod to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota only for this year. In charge of the Bench, Justice DY Chandrachud said during the hearing, "For this year's NEET Counselling, 10% EWS Quota will apply, while the constitutional validity for 27% OBC reservation in both UG and PG Counselling has been upheld."
The decision on EWS quota will be heard on March 3, 2022. Justice AS Bopanna was also present alongside Justice Chandrachud during the verdict. The Doctor's Association, Federation of Resident Doctors' Association (FORDA) lauded the Supreme Court's decision regarding the matter. Although the NEET PG Counselling for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats was to begin on October 25, 2021, on orders of Supreme Court, the MCC shelved the counselling process.
