UPSC CSE 2024 Prelims: The UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) CSE Examination 2024 will be conducted on June 16, 2024, at various exam centers across the country.
According to the official notification, approximately 1056 vacancies will be filled through this exam for various central government services and departments, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam 2024: Security measures
- Highly Competitive Exam: The UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the toughest exams in the country.
- Strict Security Measures: Due to its difficulty, stringent security arrangements are expected for this examination.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Candidates must adhere to the exam guidelines meticulously.
- Risk of Disqualification: Any mistake or violation of the guidelines may result in the candidate being expelled from the exam center.
UPSC CSE 2024 Prelims: Exam guidelines
- Entry Timing: All candidates will be allowed to enter the exam center up to 30 minutes before their scheduled exam time. No entry will be allowed after the gate closes.
- E-Admit Card Discrepancies: In case of any discrepancies in the e-admit card, candidates should immediately inform the Commission via email at uscsp-upsc@nic.in.
- E-Admit Card Printout: Candidates must present a printout of their e-admit card at the allotted exam location. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the exam.
- Photo ID Requirement: Along with the admit card, candidates must bring a photo ID card, the number of which is mentioned in the e-admit card.
- Unclear Photo on E-Admit Card: Candidates with unclear photos on their e-admit card or without a name and date on the photo must bring two passport-sized photos with their name and date, along with a photo identity card.
- Restricted Items: Candidates are advised not to bring prohibited items as there will be no facility to store them at the exam center.
- Permitted Items: Only the e-admit card, pen, pencil, identity proof, self-photo copies (if applicable), and any other items specified in the e-admit card instructions are allowed.
- Prohibited Devices: Mobile phones, other electronic/communication devices, and any objectionable materials (notes on admit card, papers, erasers, etc.) are strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action if instructions are violated.
- Pen Requirement: Candidates are allowed to bring a black ballpoint pen as they must fill out the OMR answer sheets and attendance list using only a black ballpoint pen.
