NEET MDS 2024: Students Demand Preponement
NTA will conduct the NEET MDS exam on March 18, 2024. After the hearing date of examination, candidates have demanded to prepone the hearing. Since the hearing is taking place just three days before the exam, there is a lot of confusion in the minds of the aspirants and therefore, they are requesting the court to hear the matter earlier.
According to several students, interns from various states have suffered a 7-9 month break in training due to COVID-19 and hence their internship completion dates have been extended to August. The authorities have set the current exam eligibility criteria as March 31 which according to them is unfair.
Candidates may note that in the last hearing that took place on February 21, a Supreme Court Bench of CJI DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra were hearing the petitions filed seeking the postponement of the NEET MDS examination this year.
NEET MDS 2024: Supreme Court refuses to postpone exam
The Supreme Court has refused to postpone the National Eligibility Entrance Test-Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) 2024. CJI DY Chandrachud said, “An effort is made by NDC to bring back on rails the commencement of dental courses, this cannot be regarded as arbitrary to seek the intervention of court.....on parameters of judicial review, we think it is inappropriate to interfere at this stage, we decline to intervene in the present matter.”
