The five states whose results will be declared are Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram.
The polls in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh are almost a direct contest between the Congress and the BJP, according to exit polls.
However, the Chhattisgarh election may lead to a hung assembly. In Telangana, the TRS was predicted to retain power. In Mizoram, the exit polls predicted either a hung assembly or slight advantage to the MNF.
