The Uttar Pradesh government has asked teachers to spread awareness among students so that no girl faces harassment of any kind, Basic Education Minister Anupama Jaiswal said today.
However, CCTV cameras are not part of the immediate plan, she said adding that the state government wants to ensure the safety of all school girls.
"Teachers of all the schools have been told to inculcate awareness among the girls and run a special awareness drive so that no girl student faces any untoward incident," Jaiswal said.
"The Uttar Pradesh government is taking a number of steps for the security of children in the government girls schools," she said.
At present there is no plan for CCTVs, but in the near future this point could be considered, the minister added.
