In an attempt to bribe evaluators, a few students, who appeared for Uttar Pradesh Board exam this year, have attached currency notes of Rs 50-100 denominations along with their answer scripts.
"A Rs 100 note was attached with an answer sheet. And there was a message that said it was for refreshments," an examiner at a Government Inter College told Hindustan Times.
Uttar Pradesh Board was marred with controversy this year after question paper of class X English exam was leaked via WhatsApp in Bareilly and Ballia.
While images of the question paper and answers started doing rounds on WhatsApp hours before the exam, the district inspectors of schools in both districts denied the paper leak report.
"It is true that currency notes are being found in answer sheets at different evaluation centres all over the state. It shows the desperation of examinees who are left with no scope of using unfair means," said Lal Mani Diwedi, a teacher at Kesar Vidyapeeth Inter College, Allahabad, and state general secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Sangh.
