In a bid to explore cultural links, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has decided to set up a Chair for the study of India’s ethos beyond the Asian subcontinent.
While the objective of the Chair is to promote research on the footprints of India’s ethos beyond its geographical boundaries in Asian countries, JMI will also organize a workshop.
“The idea is to strengthen glorious cultural relations emanating from deep-rooted linkages between India and Asian countries," said Najma A Heptulla JMI Chancellor and Governor of Manipur.
The decision was taken during a chaired by Heptulla. In line with the discussions held, Talat Ahmad, vice chancellor assured the Chancellor that JMI will be happy to lead the workshop to study India and Indian civilisation’s influence on other cultures to gauge the role played by India in contributing to other cultures.
