Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday directed the officials concerned to soon start the process of recruiting staff nurses to meet the shortfall.

Reviewing the working of medical and health department, Yadav took a serious view of no new recruitment of staff nurses for a long time and asked the officials to start it soon to meet their shortage, an official release said.

The Chief Minister said that the shortage of paramedical staff has an adverse impact on the medical services in the state and so the recruitment should be done soon.

Laying emphasis on hygiene in hospitals, he directed officials to ensure availability of medicines as well as doctors in hospitals, the release stated.
