Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has amended its rules for students seeking correction in their names, date of birth and parents names. 

“Limitation of cases of correction in candidate, mother and father name/correction in date of birth has been revised. Revised time limit will be 5 years from date of declaration of result and it will be applicable to all cases after class X/XII 2015 examination onwards,” the CBSE said in a notification issued on Friday.

While the revised time limit will be implemented within five years from the date declaration of their board examination results, CBSE school students so far had only one year time to seek correction in their names, date of birth and parents names. 

Highlights 

Earlier, Change in name, surname and other details of the students were allowed on the basis of an affidavit.
Before 2015, there was no time limit for the students.
