Rajasthan government has given the go ahead to a new armed constabulary battalion to be set up in the state to curb crime in various departments including mining, transportation and Jaipur Development Authority.

The new RAC battalion will have 922 posts which were also approved by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, an official in the Chief Minster's Office said.

Different squads of the battalion would deal with crimes in various departments of mining, transportation, Jaipur Development Authority, Excise and Commercial Tax, he said.




A written examination would be conducted to fill up the posts of constables in the new battalion, the official said quoting the decision.
