With Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Lucknow declaring the date of computer-based Common Admission Test (CAT) 2017 recently, MBA aspirants are worried about the their upcoming exam to be held on November 26.

To get admission in MBA colleges, the candidates should prepare simultaneously for CAT and GD.  Students should keep in mind that GD is part of selection process.

Why preparation for Group Discussion is important?

Before finalising the merit lists, the college authority uses GD as a tool to examine interpersonal expertise of the candidates. Only those candidates who successfully clear the GD are eligible to take admission to the college.

Here are a few tips to handle GD.

Good speaker
Before participating in discussion, the speaker should make sure the conversation should be short and clear.

Healthy Communication
There should be a two way communication. Always allow other members to share their views and opinions. Don’t argue.

Eye Contact
Always establish eye contact with other group members while speaking. Try to be the first one to speak in a GD.

Body language
Pay special attention to the body language. You should maintain a sober poise.
