Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on his visit to Punjab Agricultural University on Sunday stressed on collaboration between agricultural universities of MP and Punjab for the benefit of faming community.


Chouhan was accorded a formal welcome by Punjab Agriculture Minister, Tota Singh and the Vice Chancellors of PAU and GADVASU, said an official release.


Chouhan said in future, collaboration between Agricultural Universities of both states will be made which will be beneficial for the peasantry.


The visit of the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister to the agriculture varsity came in the wake of his interest in the new technologies being developed and used by the plant breeding and plant pathology departments of the university.


Chouhan later visited the field areas where he interacted with the university scientists. An exhibition depicting the work done by the university departments was also put up for the high profile dignitaries.


BS Dhillon, VC, PAU outlined the teaching, research and extension activities of the university and said he looked forward to advice for newer ideas to strengthen the programmes at PAU for helping the farmers and farming community of the state.
