Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Sunday said that literacy is the biggest resource to eradicate poverty.
Making the society literate to walk in tandem with the world, Das said, We have to change our society, and determination and passion are required for change."
He was speaking here after blessing 351 newlyweds at a mass marriage session organised by Kendriya Sarana Samiti (KSS).
The KSS has passion and determination, Das said and appealed to the tribals to strengthen the organization.
He said that over the past 70 years, people had only done politics in the name of tribals and even today they are seen as vote bank.
He said his government is taking decisions in the interest of the tribals so that they could become equal in the society, adding that the government's intention is to see engineers and police officials from the tribal community as well.
Das said Rs 10 crore has been earmarked under Fellowship Yojana so that there would not be any hindrance in education of the tribal children. The government would help in all possible way if any tribal youth finds difficulty in pursuing higher studies, an official release said quoting the chief minister.
