The Jammu and Kashmir government is working on a roadmap to open better education institutions in every corner of the state which will have all required trained human resources as well as best infrastructure, Minister of state Priya Sethi said.
"With the opening of premier education institutions like IIM, IIT, AIIMS and IIMC in the state, a foundation has been laid for developing J&K as the next educational hub in the country and in near future our students would have access to world class education setup in the state," she said.
She underlined the commitment of the government to provide modern educational infrastructure in schools across the state while inspecting the proposed site for construction of Degree College at Thanda Pani, Sunderbani Tuesday.
During inspection the minister gave directions to the revenue authorities concerned to hand over the site to JKPCC after demarcation so that work on the project is started immediately, reported PTI.
Executive Engineer PHE and PDD were asked to prepare and submit the requisite estimates for starting the construction work within a week's time.
Sethi said funds to the tune of Rs 2 crore have been sanctioned for the college and once completed it would serve the purpose of higher education needs of Kalakote, Dharmsal, Siot, Lamberi and other far flung areas.
