Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar today inaugurated a CBSE-affiliated English-medium school in Makadwali village of Ajmer.

The Vivekanand Model School has been built on a 12-bigha plot and has 24 classrooms, including three smart classes, and is equipped with a language lab along with sports facilities.

The school will be run by the Rajasthan government which had been planning to start one CBSE English medium school each in 186 blocks considered "backwards".

Under the plan, 100 schools have been opened this year.

Javadekar said the government is working to implement a learning outcome policy in schools which will keep parents updated about education level of their children.

The minister said these English-medium model schools will usher in a revolution in the education sector.

He said an atmosphere is being created where private schools will have to compete with those run by the government.
