Indian Air Force will hold a two-day placement fair beginning here Thursday, aiming to facilitate post-retirement employment for a large number of Air Warriors, who leave service at a relatively young age of about 38 to 42 years.

Resettlement of Ex-IAF personnel (Air Veterans) into their second career has remained an area of focus for the government.

IAF has been taking all possible measures to make this transition seamless for their air warriors, an Air Force statement said on Wednesday, adding that to meet this challenge, the Indian Air Force Placement Cell (IAFPC) was set up in 2007.

IAFPC is part of the Directorate of Air Veterans, Air Headquarter, Subroto Park here. It assists retired air veterans or soon-to-retire air warriors to find suitable jobs in the civil and corporate sector.

It is the nodal agency which maintains HR database of Air Veterans. This database consists of a vast pool of young and highly trained personnel numbering approximately twenty thousand, the statement said.

Representatives of CII, ICICI Bank, Monster India will address the gathering.
