How to relieve board exam stress in students

During the board exams, the stress among the students is very common. The main reason behind this unbearable stress is the social pressure of becoming a high-achiever. To fight with the stress, the first thing you need to understand is the reason behind the stress. As per the doctors, the main reasons may include low levels of motivation, incomplete preparation, competition among the peers and high expectations from the parents and other family members. There are several ways to combat stress and the following are a few simple yet effective methods.

•    Whenever you feel stressed, go for a walk. A simple breeze of fresh air can take away your stress and your will feel recharged. It provides the much-needed break from continuous studies.

•    Listen to soft music. Classical music to be precise helps a lot in lowering the stress. If you are devotional, there is no harm in listening to soft mantras as well.

•    Play with your pet. The pets can sense stress and they will help in providing relief in very little time. If you want, take your pet for a walk or a spin in the garden nearby.

•    Get proper sleep. For a student 8 hour sleep is a must. It will keep you energized and you will not feel fatigue. Also, take short naps every couple of hours. Learn about power naps which last for 10-20 minutes. They take away the stress in no time.

•    Eat properly and prefer home cooked food. There is no need to starve during studies. Avoid junk food as much as possible.

•    Speak up. If things are getting piled up inside you then talk to someone. It is not important to talk to parents of some family member. Find a good friend and talk about the problems you are facing. Even if the person in front is not able to help, your mind will get relaxed just by talking.

•    Plan your routine as it will help you keeping track of your study material and come up with the solid timetable. It is very important to keep ample time for studies, sleep, and nutrition. Do not over do anything and try to stay relaxed.
