With snowfall and heavy rainfall throwing normal life out of gear for the fourth consecutive day, the Kasmir University on Sunday postponed examination scheduled upto April 12.
While the university said that fresh dates will be notified later, the examinations in Cold Zone (Ladakh, Kargil, Nobra, Zanskar and Gurez) are postponed up to April 16 due to bad weather.
"The Schools shall remain closed till Sunday. Let's hope that the weather improves before that," an education department official said.
While Kashmir is experiencing heavy rainfall and snowfall for the last four days, landslides at several places led to the closure of the Jammu-Srinagar national highway.
"Right now, at a few collection and distribution centers from where we dispatch our polling parties there is a lot of water. Once the weather improves they will drainout the water," said Shantamanu, the Chief Electoral Office of the state.
