Minister of State for Human Resources Development and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Satya Pal Singh is on a four day visit to Guyana under the outreach program of Government of India.
During the visit from May 8 to 11, 2018, Satya Pal Singh will also meet the Nicolette Henry, the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of Cooperative Republic of Guyana this evening.
During the series of meetings with dignitaries of Guyana, Satya Pal Singh will meet Brigadier (Retd.) David A Granger, the President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana today.
He will thank to the President and Government of Guyana for supporting the formation of the International Solar Alliance during the latter’s visit to India to attend the ISA founding conference.
Apart from reiterating the existence of traditionally warm and friendly relations between India and Guyana, Singh may also refer to the planned visit of Prime Minister of India to Guyana by the end of this year after almost 20 years.
This visit would further enhance the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Satya Pal Singh will also meet David Patterson, Minister of Public Infrastructure of Guyana, Ralphel Trotman, Minister of Natural Resources and Bharrat Jagdeo, former President of Guyana and Leader of the Opposition. On Thursday, Singh will meet Moses Nagamootoo, 1st Vice President and Prime Minister.
Earlier, Satya Pal Singh was received by Indian High Commissioner in Guyana V Mahalingam on his arrival at Georgetown on Tuesday. On the same day, a reception was organised by the Indian Diaspora.
Dr. Singh will depart for India from Georgetown on Friday after the completion of visit.
