Army on Thursday organised a recruitment rally in the frontier town of Surankote in Poonch district in which a large number of youth from across the state participated.
"Romeo Force of the Army organised a recruitment rally at Surankote for enrolment of youth of Jammu and Kashmir for Indian Armed Forces. Candidates from all the districts of the state participated in the rally," Jammu based defense spokesperson Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
The screening process comprised of putting the candidates through various physical test, following which they underwent physical measurements of height, weight, chest, after which they were medically examined by a team of doctors.
"This recruitment rally was organised by Territorial Army Battalion at Palma under Romeo Force and provided a wonderful opportunity for the youth of the state for a glorious career in the Indian Army," he said.

The process was merit based, giving a fair and impartial opportunity to all eligible youth, Mehta said.
