In a bid to offer a range of training programmes, Air India is mulling to establish an aviation university.
"We want to create a world class university and make it heavily comercial," Air India CMD Ashwani Lohani told PTI.
According to reports, the national carier has approached Educational Consultants India Limited (EdCIL) in order to convert its Central Training Establishment (CTE) in Hyderabad into a deemed-to-be-university.
While CTE offers courses for pilots, flight despatchers, engineers, commercial, cargo, management, cabin crew, aviation security, aviation medicine and ramp handling, Air India is the third largest airline in the country.
