As many as 7,200 police personnel, including 1,000 women, will soon be recruited in the state, Haryana Director General of Police Y S Singhal said on Monday.

This time, written examination will be a part of the recruitment process. Out of 100, 95 marks will be for physical test and written examination, while the interview will carry only five marks.

He said that the selection would be completely transparent and Radio Frequency Identification Device would be used during the physical test.

"The working of the police department would witness an unprecedented transformation in the coming three years. With the selection on merit basis, the efficiency of the department would improve considerably," he added.

Singhal further said that for the first time since the inception of the state, the government has decided that 50 per cent of the compound fees collected by the traffic police would be spent on traffic education or traffic resources.

Presently, road accidents accounts for large numbers of deaths in the state. Following this step, the figures will come down significantly, the DGP said in a release.

He said that 500 additional motorcycles would be added in the police department so as to further strengthen the traffic system.


Harayana SSC issues job notification for 1271 PGT Teachers

With a view to provide housing facility to the police personnel, about 3,000 new houses would be constructed. The increase in resources of the department would help in improving the functioning of the police, he said.
