Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu, Dr S S Bloeria and Vice Chancellor, Jammu University, Professor Mohan Pal Singh Ishar, today met the Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra and briefed him about various issues relating to the functioning of universities.
Dr Bloeria briefed the Governor about various issues relating to the ongoing infrastructure development of the University at Bagla village, Raya Suchani in Jammu, an official spokesman said.
Dr Bloeria, who is a member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB), also discussed matters relating to the functioning of the residential Gurukul which is being run by the Shrine Board to provide high quality Sanskrit education free of cost to students admitted on the basis of a competitive assessment of their relative merits, he said.
Prof Ishar briefed the Governor about several matters relating to the functioning of the Jammu University and its off-site campuses, the spokesman said.
The Governor expressed his concern about the importance of maintaining high academic standards alongside strict discipline and decorum in all institutions of higher learning, he said.
