Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIM-K) on Thursday said it has completed the summer placements of students of the flagship Post Graduate programme in which top recruiters Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and Tata Adminstrative Service, took in 30 students.

IIM-K completed the summer placements in a record low time by securing internships for all the participating students. Prof Debashis Chatterjee, Director IIMK, said the institute''s ''performance in the palcements shows the growth of the campus across verticals. The gender diversity was received extremely well by recruiters''.

Prof Kulbhushan Balooni, Chairperson, Placements, said top companies aligning their recruitment timeline with IIM-K placements cycle augurs well for the campus. ''We are upbeat about the upcoming lateral and final placements season'', he said.

New recruiters for the summer placements likeL''Oreal, Godrej, Castrol, Cipla, Aviva, Altisource, Dell, InMobi, Whirlpool, Vodafone, Saint-Gobain, Aricent, Bosch, ACC were impressed by the academic excellence and diversity of the batch.
 Finance emerged as one of the most preferred verticals.

Close to 20 per cent of the batch secured internships in finance from recruiters across industries, which included firms like Citibank, JPMC, American Express, ICICI, Edelweiss, Aviva, Dell and L&T.

In general management and consulting vertical, students will intern with Deloitte, Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra Group, Philips, Cognizant Business Consulting, Reliance Industries Ltd. and RPG, an IIM-K press release said.

One of the important highlights of the season was an increase in number of roles offered by regular recruiters. A 20 per cent increase in the number of offers per company resulted in lesser number of companies participating in the summer placements as compared to last year for almost same batch strength of 366.
