The CBSE Term 1 Board exam was conducted for the students of Class 10 and 12 in the month of November-December 2021. Students are now bracing for CBSE Term 2 Board Exam and are also eagerly waiting for CBSE Term 1 Result which will be declared anytime soon. The results for CBSE Term 1 Exam will be released on the board's official website at cbse.gov.in and will also be available on Digilocker. Additionally, the CBSE has also prescribed the passing criteria for the students along with the marking scheme for Class 10th and 12th Board Exams.

Passing Criteria for CBSE Term 1 Exam:

In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, CBSE has divided the Class 10 and 12 examinations into two terms. In addition to this, CBSE has also altered the examination pattern. Hence, the minimum marks required to qualify the examination have been fixed as 33%. The Term 1 practical and theory examinations were organised in the month of November-December 2021. Examinations in all the theory subjects were conducted for 40 marks, while practical exams carried 10 marks. The CBSE Term 2 Board exam will cover the remaining marks.

Distribution of marks for Class 10 subjects:
  1. The English theory paper will comprise 80 marks, while practicals will carry 20 marks.
  2. Mathematics paper will consist of 80 marks, with 20 marks for practical examination.
  3. Science paper will comprise 80 marks and a maximum of 20 marks will be awarded for practicals.
  4. Theory examination for Computers will consist of 30 marks, while its practical examination will encompass 70 marks.
  5. The Social Science theory paper will carry 80 marks, while the practical examination will carry 20 marks.
 Distribution of marks for Class 12 Science subjects:
  1. The physics theory paper will consist of 70 marks and 30 marks have been fixed for practicals.
  2. The Chemistry examination will carry 70 marks and a maximum of 30 marks will be awarded in its practicals.
  3. The Biology theory paper will encompass 70 marks and practical examination will carry 30 marks.
  4. Mathematics theory examination will comprise 80 marks and practical examination will account for 20 marks.
  5. For the English exam, 80 marks have been fixed for the theory paper, while 20 marks for practicals.
 Distribution of marks for Class 12 Commerce subjects:
  • Business Studies: Theory paper-70 marks, Practicals- 30 marks.
  • Accounts: Theory paper- 70 marks, Practicals- 30 marks.
  • Mathematics: Theory paper- 70 marks, Practicals- 30 marks.
  • Economics: Theory paper- 80 marks, Practicals- 20 marks.
 Distribution of marks for Class 12 Arts subjects:
  • Sociology: Theory paper- 80 marks, Practicals- 20 marks.
  • History: Theory paper- 80 marks, Practicals- 20 marks.
  • Political Science: Theory paper- 80 marks, Practicals- 20 marks.
  • Psychology: Theory paper- 80 marks, Practicals- 20 marks.
