The objection process commenced from February 19, 2020, 11:00, am, till 6:00 pm on February 21, 2020. A module to contest answer keys is available on GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) portal from 11:00 hours (IST) on February 19, 2020, till 18:00 hours (IST) of February 2020. The examination for the GATE 2020 was conducted on February 1, 2, 8 and 9, 2020 for 25 papers.

GATE 2020: How to raise objections on Answer Key
Step 1: Go to the official website gate.iitd.ac.in or directly go to the GOAPS portal.
Step 2: Login using your registration number and password.
Step 3: Select the question that you wish to raise an objection against and give the justification.
Step 4: Once completed, candidates can then pay the fees on the online link provided.
Candidates should note that:
- Candidates can raise an objection to multiple questions. A fee of Rs. 500 per question is applicable.
- No objection without the fee would be accepted.
- Also, in case your challenge is accepted, the fees would be refunded to the payment method used by the candidate.
Out of 858,890 registered candidates, a total of 685,088 (79.76%) candidates appeared in eight sessions at 566 centres across 199 cities across India and the international centres in Dubai, Singapore, Ethiopia, Nepal, and Dhaka.
For the GATE examination, the first time the candidates were given the choice of choosing an examination centre in Srinagar.
A total of 5,102 candidates preferred Srinagar as an examination city for GATE 2020.
