The Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2022 is scheduled to be conducted on February 13, this year. The examination will be held in online mode as Computer Based Test CBT, at various examination centres across the country. IIT Roorkee is the designated authority to organise the JAM 2022 examination.
 

IIT JAM 2022 Admit Card

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has issued the IIT JAM 2022 Admit Card online on the official website jam.iitr.ac.in. No hard copy of the admit card will be sent to candidates through any other means. Candidates are suggested to download their admit card at the earliest to avoid last-minute rush. In case the candidate notices any major error or discrepancy in his/her admit card, they must immediately reach the help desk.

JAM 2022 Exam Pattern

This year, the Joint Admission Test will be held for Seven subjects namely; Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). The paper pattern will be entirely objective in nature consisting;

(i) Section–A: This section will contain a total of 30 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) involving 10 questions of one mark each and 20 questions of two marks each. Candidates should note that choosing the wrong answer will result in negative marking. For each wrong answer to 1-mark questions, 1/3 mark will be deducted. Similarly, for each wrong answer to 2-mark questions, 2/3 mark will be deducted.

(ii) Section–B: This section in the exam paper will comprise of a total of 10 Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) carrying two marks each. Each MSQ is similar to MCQ but with the difference that MSQ may have one or more than one correct choice(s) out of the four given choices. In Section-B of the exam paper, there will be no negative and no partial marking provisions.

(iii) Section–C: It includes a total of 20 Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions involving 10 questions of one mark each and 10 questions of two marks each. For these NAT type questions, the answer is a signed real number, which needs to be entered using the virtual numeric keypad on the monitor. No choices will be shown for NAT questions. There is no negative marking in Section-C (NAT).
