The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national level entrance test which is held annually under guidance of XLRI, on behalf of XAMI.
The XAT examination is conducted for admission in postgraduate management programmes in 150 management institutions that accept XAT score.

Eligibility criteria for XAT 2020
Educational Background
The candidates who wished to apply for the examination should have a recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline.
Those candidates can also apply if studying in the final year of graduation.

Application Fee
XAT Registration Fee (without late fee) – Rs. 1700/-
Candidates interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300/- each.
XAT Registration Fee (with late fee) – Rs. 2000/-
Candidates interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 500/- each.

Syllabus
Verbal and Logical Ability: Vocabulary, Sentence Correction, Paragraph Formation Questions, Fill in the Blanks, Reading, Comprehension, Analogy-based on Vocabulary, Grammar, Poem, etc.
Decision Making: Arithmetic, Situational, Analytical Reasoning, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation: Percentage, Polynomials, Time & Distance, Progressions, Data Sufficiency, Profit & Loss, Equations, Time & Work, Scatter Plots and Bar Charts, Numbers, Permutation and Combination, Probability, etc.
General Knowledge: Geography, Books and Authors, Currency, History, Personalities, Invention, Important Dates, Science and Business, Current affairs, National Capital, Films, Culture, etc.
Essay Writing: For essay writing, candidates need to be very diverse and well-versed in current affairs. Essay topics are basically abstract in nature.
Cut-off
The cut-off is maintained on the basis of total candidates appeared in the examination. It is the minimum score which is required to qualify the exam.
Negative Marking
XLRI will deduct 1/4th marks for every wrong answer.
