Pondicherry University Admissions 2024: Pondicherry University has extended the last date for the registration for admission into PhD programs through the entrance examination. Candidates who wish to participate in this exam can now submit their registrations up to 7 September 2024. Interested candidates who failed to complete the registration process and those who wish to apply can visit the official website i.e. pondiuni.edu.in/admissions-2024-25/.
According to the official notice, “The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria/requirements for the program, before applying. The details regarding Ph.D. Programs offered in the University Schools / Departments / Centres and its Affiliated institutions are available on the University website.”
As per the selection criteria, 70% weightage will be given to the PhD entrance exam conducted by Pondicherry University and 30% weightage for interview and academic record. Candidates must note that no applications will be accepted without application fees. Candidates under the general category must pay Rs 1,000 and SC, and ST should pay Rs 500.

Candidates will have to apply separately for each program.
Fill in all details as per the format and confirm all information entered is correct. Incomplete, false, or wrong information will lead to the rejection of the application. “Any claim based on wrong information, wrong course code, center code, category (OBC/ SC/ ST/ EWS/ Gen), etc. will not be entertained at a later stage,” the university said.
Application forms are to be filled and submitted online at the official website, www.pondiuni.edu.in
Candidates will have to select the correct course in the relevant column. While filling in the qualification and marks, care should be taken to provide the relevant marks/ grades.
Defense personnel should apply and make payments in online mode only. They should also take a printout of the online application form and forward the same through the respective Head Quarters addressed to - “The Assistant Registrar(Academic) Pondicherry University R.V. Nagar, Kalapet, Pondicherry-605 014.”
Before applying for multiple courses, candidates have been instructed to ensure that there is no “overlap of entrance exams among the courses to which they have applied”.
Helpdesk facilities are available to candidates for help in filling out the application form, payment of fees, and clarification regarding entrance exam-related matters.
After properly filling out the application form and paying of fee online, candidates can download their printable application from the university website.
