The Punjab government has decided to start new short-term courses on skill development and entrepreneurship.
Technical Education and Industrial Training Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that, along with the commencement of new short-term courses, the state government would help the unemployed Punjabi youths get better placements.
The minister held a meeting with Rajni Sekhri Sibal, additional secretary of in the Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, to explore the chances of employment under the new skill development schemes, an official release said.
The minister directed the officials of Punjab Skill Development Mission to prepare a detailed report of the probable short-term courses of skill development which could boost the chances of employment for the youth of Punjab.
The government will also set up new skill centres across the state as per the requirement of the region which will enhance the national standards of skilling and chances of placements of skilled students.
