The Union Health Ministry has given its nod to Dr R P Medical college here to take admissions in MBBS course to 50 additional seats for 2015-16, raising the total number of seats to 100.
The nod comes following recommendation of Medical Council of India (MCI) after its second inspection held on April 8, 2015.
The MCI had earlier recommended to the Government not to renew permission for admission to 50 additional seats and pointed out several deficiencies.
However, the issuewas taken up with the Union government and Health Minister and finally another inspection by MCI was fixed following which it recommended renewal of permission to the college for admission to additional 50 seats, an official spokesman here said.

The MCI has granted permission to admit 100 students in Dr R P Medical College in the 2015-16 MBBS batch, he said.
