IT training firm NIIT Ltd on Monday said it plans to expand its education centres to 700 from the present 600 by 2015. Besides the expansion, it was also upgrading all its centres as ''Cloud Campus'' which would enable students to get hands-on practice through lab exercises in machine rooms and NIIT Centres, NIIT Vice-President E Venkatesan told reporters here.

NIIT Cloud Campus has an innovative ''anywhere lab'' feature, which enabled students to practice application of concepts learnt in class, from anywhere, while chatting with experts to seek answers to their queries, he said.

Stating that NIIT has tied up with ICICI Bank, for providing the required trained staff and Indian Institutes of Management for developing curriculum, he said that even it was willing to provide need-based coaching for corporates, with a minimum of 25 to 30 employees.

On placement, Venkatesan, here for inaugurating the third Centre of NIIT in the city, said last year the company had a placement of 20,000 and this year would increase by 5,000 to 6,000, particularly in IT and Banking sector, which required sales and marketing executives.
