Two certificate courses in Soil Management and Water Management under community college mode, is being introduced jointly by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUT), Thiruvarur.
These courses will be conducted in the campus of CUT from tomorrow and are intended to benefit the farmers and other Stakeholders in Thiruvarur and neighbouring districts. The duration of the course was six months and the eligibility will be 8th standard pass with medium of instruction in Tamil, a TNAU release said here.
The aim of the course was to provide meaningful employment opportunities to the certificate holders and the candidates have to take up a practical examination at the end of the programme, for which a MOU will be signed by the two institutions, it said.
This was part of the National Vocational Education Qualification Framework, initiated by the Union HRD ministry.
