The numbers of girl applicants have been increased in the Indian Institute of Management. The admission process started in the Indian Institute of Management, Sambalpur (IIM-s) for the 5th batch of the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) course 2019-21.
In this batch, around 98 students have registered for the admission. Out of 98 students, there are 50 girls. That is more than 50%.
Institute’s director Mahadev Jaiswal said that the number of girl’s students enrolling in IIM Sambalpur is highest in comparison to other IIMs in the country. The director said because of better development of the institute and good placement record, maximum students are applying here for the admission.
He also added, people felt that the place where IIM Sambalpur is located, it’s not good. But the dedication of administration is making the institute popular and better. In this admission process, the institute has also decided to give rebate in cut-off marks to girl applicants.
This is also one of the reasons for maximum girls’ applicants in IIM. While the cut-off for boys was 95%, it was 90% for girls.
IIM has also started a PhD programme from this session. The 4 students have taken admission in it.
