Every year there all over the country there is a question raised by many students that what is the reason, despite getting the best scores, they cannot get admission in the New York Harvard University?

The answer to this is the selection procedure at Harvard University.

The university, over 20 students pick only one student.

It even pays more attention towards the extracurricular activities and athletics than the previous scores in academics.

Harvard University every year gets around 43000 applications among which only 2024 applications are approved.

These numeric figures were revealed for the first time in front of the world during a trial in a federal court of Boston.

The figures were revealed for the first time showing the procedure of admitting the students in the University.

Harvard is accused to be a university that discriminates between Asian students and American students.

Harvard University is not the only American University that receives these many applications.

Two years back the largest number of applications were received by the California University, around lack applications.

This year around 75000 applications were sent to New York University.

According to the Dean of Harvard University, the following is the selection procedure which is followed by Harvard University:

1. first the applications are divided into 20 groups according to the cities like California, Texas
Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Columbia.

2. After this, a sub-committee of four to five Admissions Officers explores essays, transcripts, test scores, and recommendation letters.

The subcommittee also looks at what kind of race or student of the student.

3. After this, a summary sheet of every application is formed. Through the comments of the committee members, the candidates are rated between 1 to 6 rating points.

There are comments in this and the candidate gets between 1 to 6 ratings.

1 is the best and 6th is the lowest which eventually means that there is no possibility of admission.

4. The rating given to the candidates are based on academic, extracurricular, athletic and personal records.

As for the student's leadership skills and characters, these are taken into consideration in the personal category.

5. In the case of confusion, some applications are also given to other members of the subcommittee so that they can also write their rating.

A professor even reads the ratings.

6. After this, the file is sent to the Admission Committee of 40 people. That's the committee's final decision.
