Various board results have been announced for class 12th and now students might be thinking of taking admission in top colleges and universities. Delhi University or DU is one of the most popular and preferable universities among students.

While the Delhi University (DU) has decided to provide relief to the students of Delhi Board for taking admission in the academic session 2019-20.

This year the University will include subjects other than those being taught in CBSE. The panel has decided to include some subjects from the syllabus of Delhi Board into the University syllabus.

According to the press reports, this decision has been taken in the recent meeting held by the standing committee of the Delhi University. The committee has passed a resolution to make a third category of the syllabus. This third category of the syllabus will include the syllabus of Delhi Board.

Earlier there were two lists of the subjects for the calculation of the best four subjects. In which the first list consists of compulsory subjects and the other one consist of non-academic vocational subjects.

So far, the students included scores of board subjects in the best four subjects for admission and then used to lose some points. Approx 34 Boards students across the country take admission in Delhi University. Now, these students will not lose any marks through the third list of academic subjects.

The admission for graduation in Delhi University is held on the basis of best four subjects. For example, In Jammu and Kashmir board, Bio-Chemistry is taught in schools. This is included in the Non-academic subjects list. However, the syllabus for Bio-Chemistry and Biology are the same only the difference is in their names. So, this will be included in the new list, i.e., third list. Similarly with the other different subjects who are taught across the country will be included in the third list of subjects while counting the best four subjects marks.
